Console with stingray leather

This wooden console is covered with extremely durable stingray leather in black. Stingray leather has a very special feel and is totally insensitive. It was often used for caskets and furniture in the Art Deco period. In Japanese culture it can be found on old daggers. The tsar family also loved objects that were covered with stingray leather, which was so incredibly durable.
